 As a business owner, company director or landlord, under the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act you have a legal duty to make sure any engineered water system that is part of your business is safe from legionella at all times.  The first step towards this is to complete a legionella risk assessment.

Cold water storage can provide a source of nutrients for legionella bacteria. Tanks should be inspected annually and cleaned and disinfected as required. 

Sampling enables you to provide proof that your water system is free from legionella bacteria.

We offer legionella sampling and TVC sampling as part of our services and only use UKAS accredited laboratories.

This is vital to ensure all system components are kept clean and operational.  

For example a TMV (as seen in the picture) contains filters that can become blocked and provide a source of nutrients for bacteria.  These should be inspected annually and cleaned as required.

Legionnaires' disease is contracted by inhaling contaminated water.  For this reason it is essential all showers or spray outlets are kept clean and free from scale.

Your legionella risk assessment may identify areas in need of improvement.
